Reliable temperature control without over-engineering.
Our Double Shell Spiral Baffle Rolls provide consistent heat transfer and cooling for most web processes. A spiral baffle welded inside the outer shell directs coolant along a helical path, ensuring uniform temperature distribution and turbulent flow without the cost of more complex designs.
When to choose this roll
- When you need reliable heating or cooling but extreme uniformity is not critical.
- When processing plastics, paper or textiles at moderate speeds and loads.
- When looking for a cost-effective alternative to multi-pass or PTFE-lined rolls.
- When maintenance simplicity and durability are priorities.
How it works
The roll consists of two concentric shells with a gap for coolant. A spiral baffle welded to the inner shell forces the coolant to travel in a helical path from the inlet to the outlet, promoting turbulence and improving heat transfer. This design balances efficient temperature control with structural rigidity, making it suitable for many applications.
Where it pays off / Applications
Plastic film extrusion, sheet cooling, paper and board processing, textile finishing, and lamination lines.
